As this season comes to a close, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude, humility, and awe. This year wasn’t just about miles hiked, programs delivered, or numbers reached—it was about women showing up, choosing themselves, and stepping into healing, strength, and connection.

It has been an honor to hold space in wild places, on trails, in circles, and through coaching relationships. None of this happens alone, and I am endlessly grateful to every woman who trusted me to guide, support, and walk beside her this season.

Making Nature Therapy & Retreats Accessible

Accessibility is a core value of my work. Healing should not be a privilege—it should be a possibility for all women. This year, through intentional planning and community support, I worked to ensure that retreats and nature-based experiences were accessible to more women.

Accessibility Offerings

  • 2 full scholarships for retreats

  • 4 Pay-As-You-Can retreat spots

  • 3 completely free community events

These offerings represent a commitment to meeting women where they are and reducing financial barriers to meaningful healing experiences in nature.

Retreat Impact (2025)

Retreats are more than backpacking trips—they are intentional containers for healing, challenge, connection, and transformation. By expanding accessibility, more women were able to step into these powerful experiences.

In 2025, I was honored to serve:

  • 21 women in Wild Resilience Backpacking Retreats

  • 12 women in a Full-Day Petite Retreat

  • 16 women in Collaborative Nature Retreats(including Veteran-focused and sensory-informed collaborations)

Each retreat held its own magic—shared laughter, tears, breakthroughs, quiet moments of reflection, and bonds formed in wild spaces that extend far beyond the trail.

Community Events & Circles

Community is medicine. This year, we gathered in meaningful ways—sometimes on trails, sometimes in circles, always with intention.

  • May Women’s Come Together Hike: 11 women

  • Free Monthly Rooted Together Women’s Circles (held during warmer months)

  • Total women served on monthly hikes: 50 women

These spaces were about slowing down, being witnessed, sharing stories, and remembering that we are not meant to do life alone.

Education & Empowerment Through Learning

Education builds confidence—and confidence opens doors.

This year, I hosted educational webinars designed to help women feel stronger, more capable, and better prepared for outdoor experiences:

  • Hike Strong & Gear 101 Webinar

    • 32 women participated

Coaching & Mentorship Support

Beyond the trails, I had the privilege of supporting women through individualized coaching and mentoring relationships:

  • 10 fitness & nutrition coaching clients

  • 6 mentoring clients

This work allowed for deeper, personalized support around physical health, mindset, life transitions, and sustainable self-care practices.

A Collective Impact

When I step back and look at the full picture, I am reminded why this work matters so deeply. This season represents hundreds of meaningful moments, brave first steps, shared vulnerability, and women choosing growth—even when it felt uncomfortable.

To every woman who showed up:

  • Thank you for trusting the process

  • Thank you for trusting me

  • Thank you for trusting yourself

It is an honor to serve, to guide, and to witness your resilience.

As we look ahead to the next season, I carry your stories with me—each one a reminder that healing is possible, community is powerful, and we are stronger together.

With deep gratitude,

Audrey Costa
